Course Inclusions

Our course contains:

  • General safety obligations: Vessel preparation
  • Trip and activity planning: Chart reading, Markers, Lights
  • Safety and emergency equipment: IALA bouyage system
  • Collision and water traffic regulations: Rules of the road at sea
  • Water skiing and jet skiing rules and regulation
  • Weather and tides: Basic radio and communication skills
  • Onboard and outboard engine maintenance and minor rep
  • Manoeuvring and management of risks and emergencies
  • Reporting of incidents and pollutions avoidance
  • Heavy weather handling: Basic navigation skills. Anchoring
  • On completion of our course we present you with a certificate of completion which you then take to a
  • Queensland Transport customer service centre where upon payment of a fee your boat license will be issued.

Safety

Boat Safe – Boat Smart

All our trainers are Commercial Vessel Operators with qualifications in training and assessing and working with children approval. We offer competency based training and assessment in a stress free environment with a relaxed atmosphere and a quality outcome guaranteed.

Every student receives a comprehensive training manual for further reference and we use Maritime Safety Queensland’s latest training techniques. Our combined boat licensing experience with Queensland Transport exceeds fifty years. Advanced boat handling and or personal tuition is available in our vessel or yours upon request. Courses are conducted weekly and on demand, we are a member of the BIAQ.

All Levels Accommodated

Our courses are designed to accommodate both the beginner and the recreational boatie wishing to further his knowledge. They are also designed to compliment senior mathematics and marine studies taught in most secondary schools and colleges.
